The Story Behind the Stories
A Life Shaped by Imagination
Long before Dee wrote a word of “The Mystical Flight”, Dee Van Balen was collecting moments- the hush before a storm, the flickering of something unexplained at the edge of sight, the quiet nerve it takes to notice the world differently than everyone else does.
Those moments became the seed of a story about the ability to use imagination. A story that allows the reader to feel the magic and the promise that wonder is still out there waiting to be seen.
I write for readers who believe every ordinary day is hiding something extraordinary.

The Mystical Flight
“THE MYSTICAL FLIGHT” is a tale of wonder and magic about a little Dutch girl named Lily Van Crooton and her magical Blue Butterfly, Aldora. Travel with Lily and her magical Blue Butterfly as they embark on mysterious adventures, following a secret plan to keep their family and the precious gem safe. Along the way, they meet many friends, including friendly hobbits, talking wildlife, and shapeshifting creatures, all of whom help them on their remarkable journey.
With Aldora’s gifts of superior intelligence and magic, they believe they can conquer any danger they face.
“The Mystical Flight”… indeed is a tale of wonder and magic!
